work coming from red desert trip

So none of these are finished yet, just some progress shoots

sunset helicopter ride over Kata Tjuta

Lake Amadeus from the air

valley of the winds

red desert

So I visited Uluru and Kata Juta last winter and have been working on a new body of work inspired by my love of this land. Its very bright and red in the studio now. love it. Here are some of the 1000's of photos taken and some sketches for work coming.

I actually cried when I saw Kata Juta. In love with everything about it.
Maybe not the wind. Its crazy windy in the "valley of the winds", der, blew my specs off my face.

View from my room. There is Uluru, way in the distance.
Fascinated by this cranium shape in Uluru.Oh and the wild flowers, so so many.

And then there was the field of lights installation by Bruce Munro which is just magic

those squiggly lines made me so happy. cant wait to paint them.

And then the helicopter ride over it all and out to Lake Amadeus. I have so much source material now to last me ages.

those white lines in the salt lakes are camel tracks.
